And I can’t really get specific here, because there are SO many fantastic varieties. I love a little crumbled feta, but I don’t want to short sight goat or havarti. And I’d give a kidney to hot jack. Well, I’d like to think I would. You never really know until you’re IN the situation.

I’m like 99% sure I’d horde all of my internal organs if any type of blue cheese was in need, sadly. I’ve never really been a fan of Gorgonzola et al. So, it’s kind of weird that I’m taking an issue with this, but I find it offensive. Right before he left office, Bush called for a 300% tariff of Roquefort cheese, which basically closes off the U.S. market. How catty is that?!

I may not be a fan of blue, but I would never dream of depriving some people of their delicacy that “comes with an odor of wet sheep and veins of blue mold.” To some people, that’s satisfaction one can only match with, like, complimentary Free People clothes for LIFE. I really feel for those Roquefort lovers out there, mildly vom-inducing as I may find their pleasure.

Domino being sent to a big farm upstate :(

Domino being sent to a big farm upstate :(

So it seems Obama has invited lawmakers to the White House...

So it seems Obama has invited lawmakers to the White House tonight for a little pre-stimulus vote happy hour. This is genius for several reasons, but let’s start with the obvious: are half priced martinis not the BEST way to get uptight people to agree to a little stimulus? They certainly don’t hurt the process. Also, as I previously pointed out, any drink that has a legit food garnish (including, but not limited to, martinis, sangria, and, yes, Blue Moon) is fair game for a pre-dinner nosh. In this economy, that’s nothing to sneeze at. I’m not saying Congress members have resorted to building an entire week’s worth of meals out of ONE tube of polenta like SOME of us, but we’re all suffering.

(This is unrelated, but polenta is the best poor man’s food EVER. Seriously, it’s more versatile than my old standby, the eggplant. Well, that’s a little bit of a stretch. Eggplants can pull people from burning buildings and stuff. What? I’ve heard stories…).

Anyways, I know this wasn’t his intent, but I appreciate the passive-aggressive “f you” to George. He couldn’t exactly drink openly when he was in office, could he? People would judge and totally confiscate his car keys. And, once he passed out, someone would take to him with a Sharpie and write obscene things (like “balls!” or “I support a woman’s right to choose!”) on his face. Someone ALWAYS does.

Obama doesn’t have that baggage, so I’m thinking the lawmakers will prob just have a few sangratinis apiece and then agree to feel up the economy. Please please please? It’s really into the idea.

NOW I believe in love at first sight...

NOW I believe in love at first sight...

Tea time

I don’t know what it is about tea bags, but lately I find them SO poignant. First of all,...

As if I needed another reason not to trust birds. First of all, I like to think that I respect different viewpoints, but I can’t get on board with how they perceive the world. It’s not a game of which I just happen to be an idiot savant. (I’m referring to darts, of course. I’m amazing at darts. Really. I have NO strategy either; I just aim and nail it. Jealous?) Anyways, the world is not a giant cesspool that welcomes free shitters. It’s just not. And they have no respect for the fact that SOME of us would like to live in a world where head shitting is not an option. SO fucked up.

There’s no solid proof, but it seems that a “bird strike,” AKA when birds get sucked into an airplane’s jet engine, caused the US Airways plane to crash into the Hudson River. I’m not saying it was intentional, but even the term “bird strike” has a negative connotation, right? Like all the birds in the Tri-state area got together and decided they just HAD to demand better wages and benefits and whatnot. Seriously?! They’re not Wal-Mart employees. I think they’ve had a PRETTY sweet ride so far. Free food? Check. All expense paid travel? Check. Pretty sweet.

Anyways, all 151 passengers and crew on board reportedly got out safely. Nice try, birds.

Beer money

Beer money: A California man sold his 14-year-old daughter into marriage because some 18-year-old...

Update!

I recently reported on some hideous Neo-Nazis who were trying to ruin my perception of a Fascist...
