Florida says, “Suck it, Juno”

Ok so I don’t mean to gloat, but the CDC just released a list of states with the highest teen pregnancy rates, annnnnd Florida didn’t even make the top 10. On behalf of my home state, I can say this is ONE competition we’re fine ceding to Mississippi. They can have the glory. A few years back, we most definitely made the list. Hell, I think we were leading, due in part to my classy county. Or at least we’d like to think. If we didn’t have a hand in that, we become known solely as the county who breeds abusive teens. And, if given the choice, we choose unwanted pregnancies over violence, right??

I don’t care to research much more about the CDC’s recent findings for fear that we’re actually in something like 11th place. And that’s slightly too close for comfort. What if some good old boys join forces for a weekend roofie colada spree? Sounds innocent, right? Not so much. We could knock Georgia out of 10th place with just one too many. We can’t HAVE that. Or we COULD (don’t challenge us) but we don’t care for it so much.

You know what’s unreal? The lowest teen birth rates continue to be New England, and I know for a FACT that some girls were trying to change that. And still, they’re sitting pretty at just half of the national average. Some regions get all the luck.
